Have your say evening

Dear parents and carers,

I would like to offer an invitation to everyone to our “Have Your Say” evening on the 20th November.
This will be led by a group of senior members of staff at school and some of our governors will join
us. We invite you to come along to share your views on the areas we are working on at the
moment. There isn’t a presentation, you choose which areas you want to talk to us about and you
can call in at any point between 6 pm and 7.30 pm. The format of the evening is informal we will
provide refreshments for everyone who comes along.
The topics we are including this time are:
 Admissions policy 2021
 Reports
 Feedback on Edulink
Reports
Over the last two years, we have moved the full reports for year 6 to the autumn term. This is to allow
an earlier feedback point, linked to a parent's evening in preparation for the end of Key Stage 2
assessments (SATs). The feedback about this has been positive. We are proposing a further change
this year, meaning that year 7 would receive their written report at the end of the spring term. The
reason for this is to allow time for settling into the key stage 3 curriculum, but for more detailed
feedback to be given before the end of the year, to be acted upon through the rest of the year
ready for year 8. Years 5 and 8 will receive a written report at the end of the year, allowing year 5 to
gain and develop the skills in the middle school setting and year 8, to have a final report reflecting
their achievements before upper school. We would be happy to hear your feedback on this via
email to Mrs Barrows (jbarrows@alamedamiddleschool.org.uk – please put reports feedback in the
title of the email), or by letter, telephone or through a conversation at the “have your say” evening.
We would welcome feedback on the reports process in general too.
General feedback
We will, of course, be happy to talk about any other points you wish to raise, or arrange another time
to speak in more depth. I hope that you can join us.
So that we can prepare and organise refreshments, please could you indicate if you wish/do not
wish to attend, by visiting ‘Edulink One’ and clicking on ‘Forms’, where you will find ‘Have Your Say
Evening’ and be able to tick the relevenat box in the drop down menu, to indicate ‘No’, ‘One
person’ or ‘Two people’.
Any difficulties, please contact edulinkhelp@alamedamiddleschool.org.uk .
Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely

Miss M Warner
