Homework Link

The nature and amount of homework varies according to the age and individual needs of the pupil and the activity being undertaken. Homework, at its best, is seen as helping young people to work, think and learn independently, and some of our aims when setting it are to:

  • develop a pupil’s ability to work alone, be self-motivating and well organised

  • develop skills of researching

  • extend work being done in class

  • encourage the habit of reading relevant information and stimulate enjoyment of reading

  • develop and establish the habit of a regular work routine

  • develop and sustain an effective partnership with parents/carers

We hope that through attempting homework, pupils will be inspired to know more and support their learning so they can achieve their best.

Parents/Carers can see what homework has been set by visiting Edulink One and opening the ‘Homework’ icon. More detailed explanations, worksheets, links to videos etc are to be found in Google Classroom. This is explained in more detail in the ‘Systems used at Alameda’ letter found in this folder.
