Standards

Cancellation of 2019/20 KS2 SATs

The 2019/20 national curriculum assessments did not take place due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

As a result, school performance measures will not be published for the 2019/20 academic year.

Catch-up Premium

Due to the unprecedented disruption to their education, as a direct result of coronavirus (COVID-19), those year 7 pupils entitled to benefit from the catch-up premium in the academic year 2019/20, were unable to continue with their interventions.

As of March 2020, internal tracking data, showed those pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in English and maths at the end of KS2, had made significant progress to be on track. The impact of the targeted interventions and benefit of smaller group sizes for these pupils proved to be positive.

Year 7 catch-up premium has now been discontinued. The Department for Education has said that pupils will instead be provided for under the low prior attainment factor as part of the national funding formula. The DfE has also set out plans for a £1 billion catch-up package for all pupils as a result of the impact of coronavirus.
