It is my absolute privilege to be joining Alameda Middle School as Headteacher. 

May I take this opportunity to thank Mrs Fox and Mrs Barrows for leading the school through the summer term and for welcoming me so warmly to Alameda.  

I have been fortunate that I have been able to spend some time in school during the summer term, speaking to staff, pupils, parents and governors. Many thanks to those of you who took the time to fill in the recent parent/carer questionnaire; it provided us with invaluable feedback about what we are doing well and where we can look to improve further.  It is evident that Alameda is a respected, well-supported school and there were some lovely comments made about the standard of teaching, breadth of the curriculum and the quality of care shown to our pupils.  

It is also clear that there is a desire to raise standards even further.  

Over the next few weeks, I will be spending time getting to know the students, the staff and you as parents and carers. I look forward to introducing myself at the gate at the beginning and the end of the day and to welcoming you into school for parents’ evenings, information evenings and celebratory evenings throughout the year. Additionally, I will be holding a Parents’ Forum five times a year, the dates of which will be published on the website.
