Careers Information
Careers information for Parent/Carers
At Alameda we believe in empowering students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their chosen careers. Our comprehensive Careers and Education Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) services are designed to support every student, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
As a parent, you play a vital role in supporting your child’s journey to success. This page provides information about Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) and how it can help your child make informed decisions about their future.
CEIAG is a process that helps young people:
- Understand themselves: Identify their interests, skills, values, and personality.
- Explore career paths: Discover different jobs, industries, and training options.
- Make informed decisions: Choose the right path for their future success
You can support your child by:
- Talk openly and honestly: Discuss your child’s future aspirations and any concerns they may have.
- Encourage exploration: Encourage them to try new things, attend careers fairs, and shadow professionals.
- Provide practical support: Help them with applications, CV writing, and interview preparation.
- Stay involved: Attend meet the tutor and parents evenings.
