Alameda Middle School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We aim to make Alameda a safe and happy place to learn and work.
We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the policy section on our website.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
If you have any concerns about the safety or welfare of any of our students please inform a member the safeguarding team. Members of the safeguarding team can be contacted by phone (01525 750900) or via direct email.

If a child is potentially at risk or in danger and you need to report safeguarding out of hours contact the out of hours emergency Central Bedfordshire Child Protection Team on 0300 300 8123 or cs.accessandreferral@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk.
Operation Encompass
Operation Encompass has been designed to provide early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents that occur in which a child was present, ordinarily resides at the incident location or with an involved party. We know that children can be significantly affected through witnessing or being exposed to domestic abuse and this operation will allow us to better support our pupils and our families.

Are you concerned about online safety?
Alameda Middle School has subscribed to the website ‘National Online Safety’. Our subscription allows all parents to access the site. National Online Safety is committed to making the internet a safer place for children. The website achieves this through equipping school staff, parents and children with the knowledge they need to understand online dangers and how best to react should an incident arise.
